Wildfire Season 2025

Wildfire season is here, and we want to proactively keep residents and visitors to Flin Flon informed!

We’ve set up this webpage where we will be logging all of the City of Flin Flon's wildfire notices through the summer, so you can find the most up-to-date notices regarding fire restrictions, road closures, and more within the City of Flin Flon's jurisdiction.

We may report information from the broader region when we directly receive it or spot it online. However, residents should also follow other community communication channels as they relate to you, including the Town of Creighton, Town of The Pas, The Village of Denare Beach, and the Province of Manitoba to ensure they're receiving all relevant information.

We will also be sharing information through social media and CFAR as well, but our goal is to keep a one-stop shop for the most up-to-date information here!

To report a wildfire, call 1-800-782-0076, or simply 9-11. To report a fire in the community, call 9-11.

For a map of wildfires in the province this season, visit Manitoba Fireview here.

There are currently no wildfires that directly affect the City of Flin Flon. For the most up-to-date information about wildfires in northern Manitoba, please visit the Province of Manitoba's Wildfire Information page: https://www.gov.mb.ca/wildfire/index.html

Off-Road Travel and Fire Ban Lifted, August 6, 2025

Good morning, Flin Flon!

As of this morning, we're pleased to announce that the fire ban and off-road travel ban have been lifted, effective this morning.

Though the ban has been lifted, please be responsible: avoid travelling in tall grass if possible, keep equipment in good working order, and ensure all BBQs and fire pits are well contained.

Please make sure fire risks on your property are managed as well as possible: mow your grass and remove the clippings, and ensure flammable materials are stored far away from your home.

Currently, there are no fires in the area that directly affect the City of Flin Flon. If and when there is a new fire of concern to the community, we will share information about it with urgency through our social media channels, local radio station, website, and Flin Flon Connect.

If you are looking for information about the fire situation in Manitoba, the best place for information is the Manitoba Wildfire
